Open registration begins April 27; planned information sessions | University time

the Benefits 2022-2023 Enrollment Open period begins on April 27 and ends on May 25.

During the annual open enrollment period, Pitt employees can review and make changes to the benefits they have chosen. Find all the information about open enrollment, including the benefits summary guide, online at openenroll.hr.pitt.edu.

If you do not wish to make any changes to your current benefits choices, no action is required. However, it is recommended that you follow the benefits enrollment process to ensure that your selections are accurate.

Open registration for benefits takes place in Pitt Worx, the University’s human resources and payroll system. Find registration instructions on the Registration site open and on the Hub Pitt Worx (via Passport Pitt).

If you add new dependents, you must add them in the “Before you enroll” section and upload their required documents in “Document Records” before making your benefit choices.

If you have any questions about open enrollment, contact the Benefits Department by submit an application online or by calling 833-852-2210.

What’s new

Improvements to the life insurance plan: While premiums for the life insurance plan through The Hartford remain the same, there are several enhancements to the plan effective July 1, 2022 which include a unique modified enrollment option, coverage increases and new levels of coverage . Learn more about these plan improvements.

Complementary medical cover: Available through PittPerks, MetLife offers supplemental medical coverage with accident, critical illness, and hospital benefit insurance. This employee-paid coverage would serve as a top-up policy to supplement the University-provided UPMC insurance (or any other existing coverage). Enrollment in this optional coverage only takes place during the open enrollment period via PittPerks.com; registration for these voluntary benefits does not take place at Pitt Worx. Discover this new advantage.
