Marathon Digital, Vaxart, Devon Energy: what to watch on the stock market today


Wall Street indices wobbled after the September jobs report showed a smaller increase in non-farm payrolls than expected. Here’s what we’re seeing in Friday’s trading.

  • Stocks in the crypto world, like Marathon Digital MARA bitcoin miner 2.21%

    and the Bitcoin wallet provider Coinbase,

    PIECE OF MONEY -0.49%

    reversed pre-market earnings to decrease slightly. The SEC has approved Volt Equity’s ETF, which aims to track companies that hold the majority of their assets in bitcoin or derive most of their income from bitcoin-related activities.

  • Vaxart VXRT -1.16%

    Shares rose early in trading after the company said its oral Covid-19 vaccine candidate had been shown to reduce airborne transmission of the virus in an animal model.

  • Crude prices are climbing and the stocks of energy producers follow them higher. Western Oil,

    OXY 3.33%

    Devon Energy DVN 2.60%

    and the oil services company Halliburton HAL 2.48%

    increased by 0.9% were all on the rise.
